7 Random things.....

I was recently tagged by Becca to post 7 random things about me. First, here's the rules:

you must abide by if you are tagged:

Now - down to business! ;)

1. I use to play the saxophone when I was young. HA! My sisters HATED having to listen to me practice - that interest only lasted a year.

2. I used to be dancer. I performed at Half Time shows, taught at a dance studio and also coached a high school dance team. In that time I also was privledged to be in a parade down Main Street at Disneyland, perform on ESPN twice in the Cheer and Dance Competitions and Head up the Hollywood Christmas Parade on TV too. *sigh* the good ol' days (wink)

3. I secretly like to watch Gossip Girl - *snicker* SSSssshHHHHHHHhhhh! It's my little guilty pleasure mid week. Sort of takes me back to the days I watched Beverly Hills 90210. LOL!!! I can just zone out and enjoy alittle entertainment.

4. I have double joined elbows which always makes for a fun party trick or weird conversation piece.

Still more???? OK!

5. I am 1 of 4 Girls in my family. No brothers. I fall second in the line up and am also the Tallest. Taller than all my sisters and my parents too! Secretly always wished I had an older brother in the mix.

6. My hair was once a "purpleish" color. A bad choice in a home hair dye job. Luckily it was the wash out kind. Still, it took a few weeks to "soften" the color and by the end of the month it was back to "normalish" - tee hee hee.

7. I love Mexican food! The yummy basket- or in my case basketS- of chips and salsa they give you before the meal is my favorite part! Just keep them comin' boys! If the salsa is REALLY good I'm usually pretty full by the time my actual meal arrives. My step grandmother makes the BEST homemade salsa and I once almost ate an entire jar of it by myself in one sitting while I was pregnant! whew!

Ok, I think that's enough "revealing" information about me for one day! Now I need to tag 7 lucky others!!! hummmmm..........eany-meany-miney-mo....................

Bad blogger, bad!

I must apologize to all those sweet bloggers who have "tagged" me over the last month or so - hopefully not longer - eek! I got so caught up in my life here that I neglected to fullfill whatever game, etc that you had tagged with me and I am sorry. I've put myself in a voluntary "time out" *snicker* I will also write on the blackboard 50 times - "I will not neglect those who "tag" me. " How does that sound? Off to the time out chair now.

7 random facts about moi!

Jennifer of Bella*Tessa Designs Tagged me recently to share 7 random facts about me. hummmmm..........here we go I guess!

1. I was a half-time sports dancer in my "former life" (before kids)

2. I have performed in a Disneyland parade before and had a tour of the back lot. VERY cool!

3. I have double jointed elbows which was always an interesting fun "trick" in school and a bit of a snag for dancing. It's hard to have straight arms when yours over-extend!

4. I am the tallest person in my family and I swear I have been 6 feet tall since I was 12! LOL. I have 3 sisters who are oddly enough all about the same height and I'm a bit taller than my parents too!

5. More still?????................Where's the engerizer bunny when you need him. OK - hummmmm.......... I once met Michael Landon at a celebrity Tennis Match- whom I adored because who didn't LOVE "Little house on the Prairie" when they were growing up!

6. I have a nose like my Dad.

7. I have had 2 little girls sweetly named after me. *sigh* makes my heart melt and feel grateful.

or more like I made you think! I was recently awarded the "Thinking Blogger" award from a dear friend Morgan. She had this to say about my blog: "I love the way Megan finds the coolest things whether it's boutique clothing, a rockin' handbag on Etsy, a picture of Brad Pitt on the beach, or designer desktop backgrounds. Plus, her designs make me drool, each one better than the last."

My Space

Nope not the website - but just "my space." I've been tagged by Patty and Chelsea to show off my Office space - so here goes! I spend a few of my morning hours here answering and sending emails, checking in on the BoutiqueCafe Chat board, updating my blog, editing pictures, yada yada yada! Check back in through out the day and also spend some time here at night doing pretty much the same stuff!

This is the main office of our house but I have sort of taken it over - tee hee hee. Behind the desk as you can see in the picture is a built in Bookshelf that is SUCH a disaster area! It holds ALOT of empty boxes from electronic office equipment that my husband thinks we need to hold onto. ;) Then there is misc. books, office supplies, and just some stuff that doesn't really have a place. hummmmm................Maybe I will add that to my list of things to organize..............this summer! LOL!!! Yeah this summer.



I Love the sign that reads" Etch out the future of your own design" just fits into so many aspects of my life. The mirror in the office is one that my hubby put together with some old barn wood we salvaged. Fun memories there. Then the last picture of the french bulletin board my little sister made for me - in custom colors of course! - It holds misc. cards, pictures and other fun little baubles and papers that would normally be sitting on my desk.

Well - there's the office! It has double glass french doors that lead off into the "Grand room" area of our house so it's still a part of the daily hub bub and family activites. And quick access if I just need to check my email and get an internet fix! *snicker*

Random Acts of Kindness

Here's a feel good post for today. My friends Sarah recently "tagged" me to post a Random Acts of Kindness thread - a chance to show gratitude. I happened to have heard a song on the radio today and seemed to really sum up what I was feeling. I wish I could play it for everyone to hear. It's a beautiful very moving song by Sarah Mclachlan.

It's great to reflect on your blessings and all that each of us truly has. All the material things we have been blessed with, friends, family, happiness, sadness, trials that have made us grow and become stronger, the beauty of nature all around us. The new buds in spring, a cleansing rain, the soft falling snow, the sunrise and sunset each day. I could go on and on. Thank you sarah for giving me the gift of reflection this day. I'd like to share a few photos like will hopefully speak to you in their own way and give you some peace inside as you take a moment to contemplate the random acts of kindness you have recieved today. You may have just been someone else's ordinary miracle and you didn't even know it.
