Random Acts of Kindness

Here's a feel good post for today. My friends Sarah recently "tagged" me to post a Random Acts of Kindness thread - a chance to show gratitude. I happened to have heard a song on the radio today and seemed to really sum up what I was feeling. I wish I could play it for everyone to hear. It's a beautiful very moving song by Sarah Mclachlan.

Ordinary Miracles

It's not that usual when everything is beautiful

It's just another ordinary miracle today

The sky knows when its time to snow

You don't need to teach a seed to grow

It's just another ordinary miracle today

Life is like a gift they say

Wrapped up for you everyday

Open up and find a way

To give some of your own

Isn't it remarkable'

Like every time a raindrop falls

It's just another ordinary miracle today

Birds in winter have their fling

And always make it home by spring

It's just another ordinary miracle today

When you wake up everyday

Please don't throw your dreams away

Hold them close to your heart

Cause we are all a part

Of the ordinary miracle

Ordinary miracle

Do you want to see a miracle'

Its seems so exceptional

Things just work out after all

It's just another ordinary miracle today

The sun comes up and shines so bright

It disappears again at night

It's just another ordinary miracle today

It's just another ordinary miracle today

It's great to reflect on your blessings and all that each of us truly has. All the material things we have been blessed with, friends, family, happiness, sadness, trials that have made us grow and become stronger, the beauty of nature all around us. The new buds in spring, a cleansing rain, the soft falling snow, the sunrise and sunset each day. I could go on and on. Thank you sarah for giving me the gift of reflection this day. I'd like to share a few photos like will hopefully speak to you in their own way and give you some peace inside as you take a moment to contemplate the random acts of kindness you have recieved today. You may have just been someone else's ordinary miracle and you didn't even know it.

Here's a sneaky peek at something I will have available on Tuesday! Can you guess? ;) hehehe. It's a remix and NEW design combined to create something I hope you will all love! Be sure to stop back to find out and see the "whole" picture.

Preserve Spring

For most of the Country I don't think Spring has arrived yet - it certainly hasn't here. But I am anxious for it arrive and for the warm temps to start heating up! I was searching around for some spring touches to add to my decor when I stumbled upon this ebay seller - gardenordie. They sell the most beautiful dried flowers. What a beautiful way to bring spring to your home RIGHT now and preserve for however long you want. I loved these Peonies in pinks and creams and it comes in the pail as well. I also loved the hydrangea heads - over 20 - that you can place in a basket or use for craft project.

If you are a fan of roses and the shabby chic decor this gorgeous urn with pink roses would be great addition for your home!

and if it's simple beauty you crave try this wreath on for size. Love the gentle color and fullness.

I am currently updating my house to bring Spring in and freshen things up! Still hunting for a few more perfect touches! ;) I'll keep you posted and share a few pictures when I get it all together.

Bag lady

I have recently come to love and search for fun purses, totes and bags! and I love a bargain! I certainly don't need a bunch but with spring around the corner I am itching to punch up my accessories and add some color to my world! A friend, (thank you Morgan) brought my attention to some FABULOUS bags on Target.com with an even better price! This one I HAD to snatch up! The green is one of my favorite colors this past year and it's paired up with some of Amy Butler's fabric from her Belle line.

THEN, while searching around I found a few more fabrics I recognized as well! How about alittle Denyse Schmidt with this Gray number?

and then 1 more appearance in Blue from Amy Butler's Sun Glow Collection. Pretty fun huh?

OH tooth fairy!!!

We waited and waited for my daughter first tooth to fall out as I cringed to much to think about pulling it out. SO..........tonight my husband just grabbed it after her bath and it popped right out! She was soo excited!!! She just couldn't stop smiling and sticking her tongue through it! Luckily her tooth fairy pillow came in the mail a few days ago!

Escaping the City

Sometimes Impromtu trips are the best. Just throw your bag in the car and go! That's what we did this weekend. We decided that we needed some time away from the city and a nice trip back "home" for my hubby would do the trick! So we headed to his small farming hometown. The kids of course had a blast with grandma and grandpa all weekend. It was my husband's birthday as well so after lunch on Sunday his mother whipped up an angel food cake with her yummy homemade orange frosting. Yummmmm....nothing like homemade!

We woke up to a surprising Snow storm on Sunday as well. By the time it had stopped, about noon day, there was 6 inches in the ground. We had not brought any snow clothes with us so I tied grocery sacks around my childrens feet and we headed out for some fun!

I couldn't help but take a few.......well ALOT of pictures of the snow covered trees, etc all over the yard and nearby pasture. Here's a few of my favorites. I was also intrigued by all the birds that had flocked to their small bird feeder that day. I could have sat there forever just watching and snapping pictures of them.

*sigh* It was a nice getaway - slowed our family pace down and reconnected the family roots. ;) I turned the camera on myself and my hubby and snapped this picture of us in the BRIGHT sunlight with our eyes burning! LOL NOW.....back to work and the go go go everyday life!
