Do you *heart*Etsy? Do you love to shop there? Do you sell there? I love browsing around all the talent and checking out the fun, unique goods. I recently bought a cute business card holder from Violets are Blue. And of course it was designed in my 2 favorite colors - black and white! LOL!!!
I've been contemplating opening a shop on etsy to sell my designs for sometime now. I'd love some feedback from buyers and sellers alike. Do you have a shop? post the link in the comments section and give me the dish on the good, bag and the ugly. *snicker* How's traffic? Do you sell what you would like to out of it each month? Give me the dish! I'd love to hear it and would appreciate it to!

I dont have a shop on ETSY but I do go there to shop A LOT! In fact I just bought a gorgeous necklace yesterday and am waiting to get it.
I have a shop on ETSY (it's looking a bit empty at the moment) I've been doing it for about 6 months and have sold a few items. It seems to go in 'spurts' of how busy it is. It took awhile to generate traffic when I first started (I had to do a bit of self promotion in various places) and has slowed down since I sold my more popular item (superhero apron) and haven't updated my shop recently. I guess I better get on that!

I do and I really like it! Sales are consistant when I work it like I should.
One of the keys is listing or relisting regularly.

I registered on etsy last summer, but didn't buy or sell (just window-shopped like mad!). I registered w/a spiffier name this spring and have purchased several things, all of which I l-o-v-e-!
I am planning on setting up listings in my shop one of these days. Etsy seems to be more artsy folk--and I'd kind of like to sell my artsier stuff there, kwim?
wow just came across your blog c/o steph a little moore, you are so talented and a great read.
I have an etsy shop only ever listed 3 things, never sold, i think you have to be regular, love buying from there though.

hummmm.........interesting! thanks for the input ladies! and it was fun looking around your stores too! ;)
Love love LOVE ETSY! Did I mention I heart ETSY I just discovered it myself. As a matter of fact I received my 1st ETSY order today. I'm wearing it now; a fabric & elastic headband made by moderncharm. I'm in love I tell ya! There's a bunch more I'm planning on buying and I'm going to start listing my own goodies very soon. I say give it a go! :o)

I do have an etsy shop and I am fascinated with what is on that site! There is so much talent over there. I only have a few things listed and I'll be honest I don't put much time into it, but I have several bag maker friends who have had a lot of success there. I have heard it is important to keep listing things so you can have at least one thing on the front page pretty regularly. I'm at www.azalealane.etsy.com
Love your look & style!
Looking for vintage style handbags to sell in my Antique barn sales twicw amonth, do you wholesale at all?

I am a big window shopper there and have an empty store. I set it up and then never took the plunge to stock the store. I hope to add things soon! I think it is a fabulous retail space for handmade items! There is an appreciation for creativity and artistry there that you can't always count on at places such as ebay.
I love Etsy! I have a shop but need to put more in it this Fall...I am working on some totes/pillows with my dd now and we'll probably put them in there. I love how you can list longer over there and of course the fees are lower...the people are sooo nice too. There's not as much traffic tho so you really have to promote but that's all a part of it anyway. P.S. Love the choc lolli jeans...did you see they were on the pulse?
Tori :)
oh wow! I didn't see that! thank you Tori!
Yup! promoting is part of whatever you do! ;) I love that it's such a talented community, rich in style and uniqueness. Definately an artsy community like Nic said. ;)
I think you'll be seeing a store from me on there soon! :)
I just opened an etsy shop last week. LIsted 6 things, sold one so far... I noticed I listed the fabric maker (Alexander Henry)and that bag had wayyy more hits than my other (nondesigner fabric) bags. It also got people looking at my other stuff. So, I think you gotta have good tags, list sporatically to bring in new lookers, and have some eye catching titles and searchable terms. Good luck Megan you will do good on there ;)

Confession:
I have only window shopped on Etsy a couple times. I loved most of what I saw, I like that it's a much more artistic inspired venue than other places I've shopped online.

As both a buyer and a seller on etsy, I can say with confidence that your shop would be a wonderful addition to the etsy community.
I have loved every item I have purchased and plan to continue shopping there for gifts for others and treats for myself!
I have also had great experiences as a seller. Payments have been timely and customers have been friendly.

I love being at ETSY!! Like alot of others stated, you have to promote, and list regular. It is cheaper than ebay and you get to list the item longer.
I have done pretty good. I hope you decide to try it!!!

Hi. Love your stuff. Here's my Etsy - http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5017625
Sales have been mostly to folks I know, it's nice to have such a format to advertise my goods. I don't do that much work though and the price is right. Good luck!
I am just stocking my etsy store. It is www.amybube.etsy.com. From what I hear from other users you have to self promote. I have not received any etsy business yet (only open 2 weeks) but it has been great to direct people to and it is cheap and easy to use. Love your clothes!
I do heart Etsy! I recently joined Etsykids and am listing slowly but steadily. I really feel "at home" there. You know really in my element. I guess I'm seeing eBay as a strip mall and Etsy is more like a artistic community fair.
Check me out at www.prontipandco.etsy.com And don't forget to add me to your heart list.
